I haven’t wrote for a long time because I’ve been so overwhelmed by the stupendous nature of events that have come so fast it’s almost impossible to keep up in any coherent fashion. But I feel I have to speak out even if it makes no difference other than to keep a little faith for myself in a seemingly whimpering democracy.
It’s obvious to most sane people that Donald Trump hasn’t exhibited either the judgement or character necessary for a President of the United States, and the refusal by Congress, particularly Republicans, to recognize this presents a clear and present danger to our country.
Donald Trump’s chronic lying, obstruction of justice, abuses of power, and threats of war make it incumbent upon Congress to uphold their solemn oath to support and defend our Constitution.
Trump’s administration is characterized by a never-ending avalanche of chaos; presenting one political crisis, or moral outrage after another. This President is truly dangerous, and a real threat to our democracy and world peace.
Congressional members of Congress KNOW that Trump is unworthy of his office, yet they refuse to carry out their oath which dictates, in no uncertain terms, to defend the Constitution against “all enemies, foreign and domestic.” They obviously have failed to “faithfully discharge the duties of the office.”
This dangerous administration has corrupted and abandoned all regular norms of order, honor, and decency in an unprecedented manner. The United States, once a beacon of hope for millions, has, because of the abrasive nature of Donald Trump, become a nation of mistrust and division, both internally and externally.
Trump has set our country upon a disastrous course that only we the people can correct by involving ourselves to vote the bastards out.
